Russian local press reported that Russia has created and implemented a new camouflage equipment for its military, which is nicknamed as “invisibility cloaks“. This could be a game changer in the modern warfare.
Rebekah Koffler, a strategic military intelligence analyst and the author of “Putin’s Playbook”, in an interview said that this new “cloak-nevidimka” is part of the Russian – and previously Soviet – doctrine of “maskirovka”, which is the foundational principle of the Russian military doctrine. Literally translated as “disguise”.
The goal, according to Koffler, is to “deceive the adversary about everything you do, including the presence, position, and size of troops, the timing and location of the attack, and the inability to distinguish between different types of military hardware.”
Sadly, Russia may not create a military outfit that keeps their soldiers warm enough, but they would still invest in these new technologies like “cloak-nevidimka” which could be a game changer in Russia-Ukraine warzone.
In an interview with Russian publication TASS, which was published on January 19, HiderX detailed a number of features of the new military technology, such as it only weighs 350 grams — which one can fold up and fit in their pocket, and its ability to hide a heat signature.

Regarding their new invention, Russian company HiderX informed TASS, “We have designed a completely new product – a camouflage suit that dilutes the silhouette.” “This new technique used to coat the fabric with a specific material is entirely Russian.”
Koffler highlighted that the term “trials” referred to the Ukrainian battlefield testing. The entire outfit, which comes with a hood, a cap, and “special glasses,” effectively hides the soldier wearing it from enemy’s view up to two meters [about 3 feet] away.
The material itself has three layers: an internal layer that reflects infrared (IR) radiation from the user’s body; a middle layer that absorbs IR radiation; and an external layer that reflects IR radiation from the outside environment.”
“Cloak-Nevidimka” was developed at the “Radiological Chemical Biological Defense” (RKhBZ Academy) in Russia.
